Vercel AI funding hits $300M to expand AI Cloud

Vercel has raised $300 million in an oversubscribed Series F round to scale its AI Cloud platform and development tools. The funding values the San Francisco–based company at $9.3 billion. Leading the round were Accel and Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC, joined by new investors BlackRock, StepStone, and Khosla Ventures. The capital will support Vercel’s efforts to expand its infrastructure, strengthen security, and accelerate adoption of its AI development agent v0, already used by more than 3.5 million developers.

Growth performance

The company reported an 82% increase in revenue during the past year and doubled its user base. Its customer roster includes OpenAI, Anthropic, PayPal, Nike, and Walmart, reflecting traction across both AI-native startups and multinational enterprises. In November, a $300 million secondary tender offer is expected to provide liquidity for employees, former employees, and early investors.

Investor participation

Accel and GIC co-led the round, while BlackRock, StepStone, and Khosla Ventures joined as new backers. The inclusion of both global venture firms and institutional investors shows alignment between private equity and sovereign capital in funding developer-first infrastructure.

Technical roadmap

Vercel plans to expand its AI Cloud services and launch v0 Mobile in October. The upcoming release will enable developers to build mobile applications using voice and camera inputs, extending its platform beyond web-based deployment. By adding multi-modal functionality, Vercel aims to meet rising developer demand for tools that integrate AI across devices and environments.

Market positioning

Competition in AI infrastructure is intensifying as enterprises prioritize scalable deployment pipelines. Vercel’s combination of developer-focused workflows, rapid adoption of v0, and partnerships with top-tier clients position it among leading platforms defining the new stack for AI-driven software delivery. Moreover, the company’s move into mobile broadens its competitive reach beyond web services, targeting a wider base of applications.

Strategic significance

The Vercel AI funding round secures resources for large-scale product expansion while reinforcing investor confidence in developer-centric AI infrastructure. Rapid adoption of v0 indicates strong market demand for tools that simplify AI deployment. The planned launch of v0 Mobile suggests a strategy to unify developer workflows across web and mobile. In addition, the secondary tender offer provides liquidity that strengthens employee retention during an industry-wide talent race. Together, these factors position Vercel to compete with other AI infrastructure firms pursuing similar growth trajectories.
